Touring Norfolk by 5 CL’s/ CS’s

Touring Norfolk is on everyones agenda at some point isn’t it ? , but how to do a tour is often the question we’re asked. There are of course a number of ways of covering the scenic county of Nelson. This is how we would do it and it’s a tale of 5 high quality CL’s/CS’s strategically located to allow access to the finest places the county has to offer.

Nelson’s birth place Burnham Thorpe Norfolk.

To those who remain unsure as to whether Norfolk is worth a visit let me paint a written picture of this county rich in history, There were people here 950,000 years ago, quarrying flints along the higher ground , then came the famous Iceni tribe of Britons who were prevalent in the 1st Century BC. Their iconic leader Boudica’s struggled for freedom against the Romans. This was before even the Angles from Germanic heritage arrived and eventually separated East Anglia into North Folk and South Folk and some sense of geographic identity emerged as in the county of today . Next came the Danes , Romans and the Normans, the gradual creation of a United Kingdom , Civl War , Anne Boleyn , Admiral Nelson and so on and so forth. In the 16th Century Norwich was the second biggest city in England and Kings Lynn the main port in the nation at one point , a county punching above its weight.

The county was scattered with air bases, both UK and American, as the county played it’s part in the war effort.   But wartime heritage remains an important part of the county life.

It has miles of amazing beaches , windmills and wind pumps , seals and birds of rare distinction. It has the oldest collection of churches in  Europe , amazing resorts and lots of strange events that we just class as ‘Normal for Norfolk’.

But how to see the County on holiday and not miss the main bits with a Motorhome, Caravan and Camper Van is the question - we have the answer and it is a tour of 5 CL’s/CS’s.
